The Wajina Path

Six Stages, One Journey.

From your child's very first day with us, to the moment they step out ready to lead — every stage of the Wajina journey is deliberate, warm, and built around who they're becoming.

Stage1Nurture
Foundation

Creche & Nursery · Ages 1–4

Foundation

Your child's very first school moments happen here — and we handle them with the care they deserve. Our creche and nursery is a warm, colourful world of gentle discovery. We're not just watching them grow; we're part of it.

Stage2Explore
Discovery

Lower Primary · Ages 5–8

Discovery

This is where learning becomes exciting — and we make sure every child feels it. Letters become stories worth telling. Numbers become puzzles worth solving. The confidence we build here travels with them for life.

Stage3Mastery
Excellence

Upper Primary · Ages 9–11

Excellence

By now, they're not just learning — they're starting to shine. We raise the bar on purpose, because we know what they're capable of. They discover it too, and that changes everything.

Stage4Integrity
Character

Junior Secondary · Ages 12–14

Character

These are the years that shape who they become, not just what they know. We invest equally in their integrity, their grit, and their sense of self. You'll see it at home. They'll feel it in themselves.

Stage5Prepare
Innovation

Senior Secondary · Ages 15–18

Innovation

WASSCE-ready. Confident. Hungry for more. We prepare them to walk into Nigeria's most competitive spaces and hold their own. This is what all those years have been building toward.

Stage6Legacy
Impact

Alumni & Legacy

Impact

Once a Wajina student, always a Wajina student. Our graduates carry something well beyond certificates — a way of thinking, showing up, and leading that people notice. That's what we're really building here.

Wajina Citadel Exterior

More than a school.
A place where futures are born.

At Wajina International Schools, we believe every child carries within them an extraordinary potential — waiting to be seen, nurtured, and set free. We don't just teach. We inspire.

From the moment your child walks through our doors, they enter a world where excellence is expected, compassion is practised, and no dream is too big. We raise children grounded in integrity, fuelled by critical thinking, and empowered by leadership.

Vision Statement

To inspire excellence, cultivate character, and empower engagement locally and globally — to form men and women of conscience, compassion, competence, commitment and character.

Core Values07 Pillars

Fear of God

Every lesson, every interaction rests on this foundation. We raise children who understand that true character begins with reverence — and that wisdom starts here, nowhere else.

Responsibility

We hold students accountable to their work, their words, and their community. Ownership is taught from day one, and it never leaves.

Integrity

At Wajina, how you win matters as much as winning. We build students who do the right thing even when no one is watching.

True Friendship

The bonds formed here last a lifetime. We cultivate genuine care, loyalty, and community — built one relationship at a time.

Critical Thinking

We don't raise students who memorise answers. Every child learns to inquire, connect, and reason independently — from primary through graduation.

Leadership

From class monitor to prefect council, every student discovers their voice. We believe every child has the capacity — and the responsibility — to lead.

Open Mindedness

A Wajina student listens before they speak and grows through every perspective they encounter. Curiosity about the world is not optional here — it is expected.

Mission Statement

Wajina International Schools' staff, parents, and community are dedicated to the intellectual, personal, social and physical growth of every pupil. Our highly qualified staff recognise the value of professional development in order to rigorously challenge students. Our teaching practices are both reflective and responsive to the needs of our students. Through diversified experiences, our pupils discover their potential, achieve readiness for higher education and careers, and succeed in a secured and serene environment.

Comr. Mike Ortom

Our Patriarch

The man behind
the vision.

Education is not a privilege. It is the one gift that multiplies when given.

Comr. Mike Ortom spent years watching brilliant children in Benue State fall through the cracks of an underfunded system — not for lack of ability, but for lack of access. That wound never healed. It became a calling.

He broke ground on what would become Wajina International Schools with a clear mandate: build an institution where a child from any background could sit beside the world's best ideas and leave prepared for the world's highest demands.

Today, with two thriving campuses, a fully digital student portal, and alumni placing in universities across four continents, the vision he committed to is very much alive — and still growing.

Our Faculty

Taught by
the committed.

Wajina's teaching staff are not merely qualified — they are chosen for their ability to inspire. Every educator on our roster underwent a rigorous selection that assessed subject mastery, pedagogical skill, and character. We do not hire teachers who deliver content. We hire teachers who build futures.

In their
own words.

Mrs. Bello-Adeyemi
My daughter came home one evening reciting Achebe. Not because she was told to — because she wanted to. That is the Wajina effect.

The Road Ahead

Beyond these walls.
Into the world.

Wajina is not a school that stands still. We invest in what comes next — a college, second-chance education, scholarships for the brilliant, and humanitarian work that reaches far beyond our gates.

Wajina College
Coming 2027

Wajina College

A natural extension of everything we've built. Wajina College will offer higher education pathways rooted in the same values, rigour, and character formation that define our primary and secondary campuses.

Degree-level programmes in Education, Business Administration, and Agricultural Sciences — designed for the leaders our region needs most.

Second Chance Academy
Enrolment Open

Second Chance Academy

Education has no expiry date. Our accelerated adult programme gives men and women who missed formal schooling the chance to earn primary and secondary credentials — at their own pace, with dignity.

Flexible evening and weekend classes. WAEC preparation. Literacy coaching. Because it is never too late to become who you were meant to be.

Scholarships
Applications Open

Scholarships

Brilliance should never be gated by circumstance. Our scholarship programme identifies and fully sponsors exceptional students from underserved families across Benue State and beyond.

Full tuition, uniforms, books, and meals — removing every barrier between a gifted child and the education they deserve.

Community Impact
Ongoing

Community Impact

A school that only serves its students has missed the point. Wajina's outreach programmes reach deep into the communities we call home — because a rising tide lifts every boat.

Clean water projects. Village literacy drives. Free health screenings. School supply donations to rural primaries. This is the Wajina way.

Begin
the long
conversation.

Admissions to Wajina International Schools is a deliberate process. We look for curious minds, strong character, and families committed to a lifelong partnership in education.
